Baha Mar Resort

Pure Luxury in the Bahamas, Baha Mar Resort announces Baha Bay

By Dave Daubert

Located on the pristine white sands of Cable Beach in Nassau, Baha Mar, the latest in pure luxury resorts with the only Jack Nicklaus-designed Signature golf course in the Bahamas, will be opening Baha Bay, their new luxury beachfront waterpark.

The latest addition to a myriad of guest amenities, Baha Bay is set on 15 oceanfront acres and will feature 24 water slides, a dueling water coaster, group raft rides, a wave pool, an action river winding through a tropical landscape, and a first-of-its-kind Surf Simulator. The waterpark will also include splash zones for kids of all ages, beachside tranquility, and cabanas ideal for privacy, entertaining and relaxation. This expansive beachfront adventure offers a complete customizable guest vacation.

"We're thrilled to reveal the launch of Baha Bay coming to Baha Mar on July 2nd," says Graeme Davis, President of Baha Mar. "As the latest edition to the resort destination's collection of celebrated adult and family-friendly offerings, Baha Bay will provide our guests with new exceptional experiences, suitable for all ages, as we continue to redefine the Caribbean vacation."

Simultaneously, Baha Mar will re-open the Baha Bay Beach Club, offering beachfront views of the turquoise Bahamian waters. The luxurious Beach Club features 15 full-service private cabanas, daybeds, infinity pools and poolside lounge areas for optimal seclusion and relaxation, Baha Bay Beach Club is also home to 25*N restaurant, one of 40 dining & bar options on the property, featuring California-inspired bites and drinks.

Baha Mar is a master-planned integrated resort development on 1,000 acres overlooking Cable Beach. The destination includes more than 2,300 rooms where guests can choose from the richly defined Rosewood that pairs relaxed Bahamian refinement with astonishing natural beauty, SLS Baha Mar, a tropical sanctuary where dazzling scenery pairs with amenities curated for the world's most discerning guests and residents, to the Grand Hyatt which blends Bahamian art and architecture, dramatic design and modern luxury, and embraces the spirit of the Bahamas in its accommodations and residences. The resort also boasts the largest casino in the islands.

Greens, Blue and the Golden Bear
Balancing classic golf style with advanced golf course design, Royal Blue Golf Club at Baha Mar is a Jack Nicklaus designed Signature course, and the most luxurious layout in the Bahamas. Spanning 7,189 yards, Royal Blue is a par 72, 18 hole course that incorporates beauty and challenges in a unique fashion.

From a front nine featuring dramatic views of the undulating fairways, rolling white sand dunes, brackish ponds and turquoise waters of the Atlantic Ocean, to a back nine that transports players to limestone "moonscapes," dramatic elevation changes and a dense jungle environment, Royal Blue is a stunning golf course to experience. The natural landscape is incorporated into the design, leaving in place a number of indigenous trees and plant species. It is also home to over 70 species of birds including the Bahamas Woodstar, egrets and ospreys.

After golf visit the well-appointed Bahamian-style clubhouse to purchase some logoed fine fashion or accessory from the Pro Shop. The 1900 square foot dining room is a comfortable place for lunch and drinks, or you can choose to enjoy some refreshments at the alfresco spot at the base of the historical Cable Beach Reservoir, an old water tower adjacent to the clubhouse.
